The NSW Tourism Association's Top Tourism Town Awards are back – and Open Road readers can help decide which towns take out the top honours in 2025!

From the coast to the country, NSW is full of unique, welcoming communities that go above and beyond to give visitors an unforgettable experience. How are the shortlists drawn up?
Towns can enter one of three categories depending on their size:
- Top Tourism Town Award – Population over 5,000
- Small Tourism Town Award – Population between 1,500 – 5,000
- Tiny Tourism Town Award – Population below 1,500
All of the shortlisted candidates are self-nominated entrants into the Top Tourism Town awards program. They completed a submission with a video, itinerary and editorial about their town. They are currently being marked by our industry expert judges, and a percentage of their final score comes from this public vote. In addition there is a People’s Choice Award for the most public votes in each category.
