Current fuel prices and prediction

• The current average price for regular unleaded fuel in Sydney is 174.1 cents per litre (Monday evening).
• Average regular unleaded prices are expected to rise the high 170s over the coming week due to rising wholesale prices.
• Current average diesel price is 213.5 cents per litre.
• Regional prices: Last week average prices for regular unleaded rose 5.7 cents per litre and diesel prices rose 17.4 cents per litre.

World Crude Oil Prices

Over the previous week the average:

• Tapis crude rose $US 8.5 per barrel to $US 87.7 per barrel.
• Mogas (unleaded price benchmark) fell $US 10.6 per barrel to $US 108.4 per barrel.
• Gasoil (diesel price benchmark) rose $US 23.6 per barrel to $US 145.1 per barrel.

Sydney Wholesale Prices

Over the previous week the average for:

• Regular unleaded rose 10.0 cents per litre to 171.5 cents per litre.
• Diesel fuel rose 22.0 cent per litre to 209.2 cents per litre.

Sydney Diesel Prices

Sydney diesel prices rose 20.9 cents per litre this past week. Current average diesel price is 213.5 cents per litre. 

Looking Ahead

Average regular unleaded prices are expected to rise the high 170s over the coming week due to rising wholesale prices.

Average regular unleaded prices – 174.1 cents per litre – have fallen 83.7 cents per litre from the 30 March high of 257.8 cents per litre.

The average price increase for E10, Premium 95 and Premium 98 are as follows:

• E10 – 172.1 cents per litre have fallen 83.6 cents per litre from the 30 March high of 255.7 cents per litre.
• Premium 95  – 191.5 cents per litre have fallen 82.9 cents per litre from the 30 March high of 274.4 cents per litre.
• Premium 98  – 199.6 cents per litre have fallen 83.1 cents per litre from the 30 March high of 282.7 cents per litre.

Sydney’s current average diesel price at 213.5 cents per litre. Price rises in the order of 5-6 cents per litre - expected over the next 1-2 weeks.

The current average LPG price in Sydney is 114.4 cents per litre – down 1.2 cents per litre this past week.
